This mug is handmade showcasing warm terracotta tones on the exterior with a refined white glaze finish within. This unique style honours traditional pottery methods whilst delivering the clean aesthetic appeal of contemporary design.

The design is inspired by ancient Greek pottery and handmade from the island of Crete.

Maker Story

Established in Chania, Crete, in 1984 by husband and wife partnership Noufris Papatzanakis and Lotte Neumann, this small family business continues the long tradition of ancient Greek ceramics, focusing on handmade tableware and home décor for use in today’s homes. Crete has the advantage of having one of the longest histories of ceramic making in the Mediterranean world and after researching its Island’s ceramic traditions, they continue to produce pieces in the same way with great skill and expertise.
