Bring a of traditional Greece into your home with these beautifully handmade beeswax taper candles.

Made from natural beeswax, each candle carries warmth and character. The candles are carefully made using a dipping technique, preserving a simple, time-honoured process, passed down through generations for over 70 years.

Naturally warm in colour and wonderfully tactile, beeswax has long been valued in traditional candle making. These Greek beeswax candles have an understated beauty that works just as well on a rustic Mediterranean table as it does within a more contemporary home.

The Candle Workshop based in northern Greece, is an area with a strong connection to traditional beekeeping. The natural beeswax is transformed into something both beautiful and functional.

Every candle is unique, with subtle variations that reflect its handmade nature. Rather than being mass-produced, these are candles with a genuine sense of place and a story behind them.

Candle Care

Candles must be securely in a suitable candle holder on a heat-resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

If your candle is slightly loose in its holder, allow a small amount of melted wax to drip into the base of the holder then carefully positioning the candle into the wax. Allow the melted wax to set fully and check the candle is stable prior to lighting.

Maker Story

Karatziovalis Candle Workshop is a small family-run candle maker in northern Greece, where the art of traditional candle-making has been passed down through three generations. For around 70 years, the family has specialised in traditional beeswax and ecclesiastical candles, using a patient, time-honoured dipping technique. Pure white cotton wicks are attached to metal frames and repeatedly dipped into melted beeswax, gradually building each candle. Read more about the Candle Workshop here.
